An introduction to Manila & it’s suburbs starting with a stop at Rizal Park, Casa Manila and Fort Santiago within the Walled City of Intramuros. Running tour of Makati Commercial Center, Forbes Park and stop at the Manila American Memorial Cemetery. Return to Manila for a running trip of the reclaimed area and the Cultural Center Complex along Roxas Boulevard.

Instead of going to Makati, after the Intramuros visit with Casa Manila and Chinese Museum, we walk along the lively heart of Ongpin Street in Chinatown, to see the wet market in Carvajal. Followed by a drive to Binondo to visit the intriguing 54 hectare Chinese Cemetery with its unique structures and Buddhist temple.

TAGAYTAY RIDGE TOUR (5 hrs, pick up 8am)

Located about 2,5 hour drive South of Manila, Tagaytay Ridge at 2,250 ft. above sea level offers a panoramic view of Taal Volcano (weather permitting). Taal Volcano is considered to be the smallest & lowest volcano in the world. Sitting serenely on Taal Lake, the volcano offers a deceptive sight, considering the violent history of past eruptions. On the way to the ridge, drive by fruit stalls and visit the famous Bamboo Organ of the Las Piñas Church (the only one of its kind in the world).

Drive down the winding road until Talisay, Batangas. There we board a motorized outrigger boat to Taal Volcano Island 30 minutes away. Walk up the soft black lava sand (or pay for a horse) to the rim of the crater to have a close up view of the caldera. Return to the lakeside inn for a lunch. We advice to bring an extra set of clothes, hat and suntan lotion.

Drive about 2,5 hours one way South of Manila to a unique place called Hidden Valley. It’s vegetation flourishes in an 110 hectare crater 300 feet deep believed to have been formed by violent volcanic upheaval thousands of years ago. A private resort that boasts of a virgin forest, century old trees, natural water springs, wild orchids, and a hidden waterfall. Several natural spring pools, flowing continuously, are available for a dip.

After 600 years of silence, suddenly in 1991, with only minimal warnings, the volcano erupted in all its fury throwing ashes and pyroclastic materials as much as 50,000 ft. into the atmosphere. Now considered the biggest eruption of the 20th century, Mt. Pinatubo has fallen back to sleep, having left spectacular lahar formations. You may choose either to hike up to the craterlake (3 hrs one way) or use the 4x4 jeep nearly all the way up and hike up and down the last 40 minutes only (ow).
