Day 1
Early morning pick up from hotel. Depart Manila to the summer capital of the country, Baguio. Drive by some areas affected by Mt Pinatubo’s volcanic eruption last 1991. (Optional extra : Hike Mt Pinatubo and see its crater lake  the morning of day 1) .Afternoon driving tour of  Baguio’s main spots:  Botanical garden, Mine’s View, Camp John Hay, the cathedral and well supplied public market. Check in at superior category hotel for overnight stay. Dinner. (Optional  extra : extend 2 days to take in also historic Vigan and Laoag).

Day 2
After breakfast in the hotel departure for Sagada passing the rough and bumpy Halsema Highway (called “the mountain trail of Benguet”) offering breathtaking views (approx. 5 hrs). Check in at standard accommodation in Sagada. Dinner at the patio. Evening free to mingle with the locals and see the Masfere photos.

Day 3
After breakfast meet your local guide and depart for Lumiang, a burial cave containing coffins of 400 years old, Sumaguing Cave and see other hanging coffins within easy sight of Echo Valley. Proceed to Bontoc (2 hrs) for a visit of the charming Museum of Mt.Cultures. Proceed to Banaue (3 hrs), the ancestral home of the Ifugao tribe and famous rice terraces. Arrive late afternoon, visit the Banaue Museum and check-in at accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4
After breakfast you and your local guide will board a jeepney for one hour bumpy drive along the Banaue rice terraces. From there you trek to either Banga-an Village or Batad Village (more intense walking) and discover the typical Ifugao way of life. End of day return to Banaue for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5
Banaue/ Manila. Return trip to Manila (10 hrs). Arrive in Manila late afternoon.

OPTIONAL EXTRA: HIKE MT PINATUBO AND SEE ITS CRATERLAKE

Hike the spectacular lahar formations of Mt Pinatubo Volcano.
Day 1, after late lunch (included) we continue driving another 5 hours to Baguio, where you will stay overnight. We use a 4x4 jeep to trek nearly all the way up plus hike up and down the last 40 minutes (one way) and owe at seeing the crater lake itself.
Note: Mt Pinatubo Volcano Trek is not advisable after days of continuous rain.

By adding two (2) days to your original 5 days / 4 nights Northern Luzon Tour, we will redirect the original route and drive from Manila to Vigan first and from Vigan head to Baguio (5 to 6 hours) from where the tour will follow its regular itinerary.
Inclusions: 2 nights accommodation with breakfast in Vigan, Vigan Walking tour, visit the museum, pass by ancestral houses and antique shops. Visit the “Pagburnayan”, a local pottery making factory.
Laoag tour to see Paoay Church, bell tower, Ilocos Museum and Malacanang.
