PADI National Geographic course

To earn a National Geographic Diver certification, an individual must:
1.Complete all knowledge development, confined water, and open water performance requirements contained in the PADI Open Water Diver course
or already hold a PADI (Junior) Open Water
2.Diver or higher level PADI certification.
3.Complete the National Geographic Knowledge Review based on information gained from the National Geographic Diver Almanac and DVD.
4.During an open water dive, demonstrate the ability to hover in these three positions: horizontal, feet slightly elevated, and head slightly
elevated.
5.During an open water dive, complete the Exploration Project that includes gathering information and/or images and creating a visual representation
of the dive site detailing specific features. This may result in a sketch, diagram, graph, photo-essay, or video During an open water dive,
complete one of the following: a. Navigate a square or rectangular pattern using both compass headings and natural references to return to
the starting point.b. Locate and identify by name at least two aquatic plants (one for freshwater), four aquatic invertebrate animals (one
for freshwater), and five aquatic vertebrate animals (two for freshwater).

Assitant Instructor course
· Minimum age: 18
· Usual Duration: 4 days plus optional but highly recommended IDC Pre-Study and Preparation

· Course prerequisites: Prior to the start an individual must complete all (16) IDC
Knowledge Reviews.
Be certified as a PADI Divemaster or hold a leadership level certification with another recreational diver training organization.
Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement for a diving medical examination conducted within the past 12 months. A
licensed physician must sign the form and state that the candidate is fit for diving. The physician signing the form may not be the applicant.
Have been a certified diver for at least six months and have completed and logged at least 60 open water scuba dives (as
documented in the individual's log book) and have documentation of experience in deep, night and navigation diving.
Submit proof of CPR and first aid training within the last 24 months.
Submit documentation of any qualifying certification for entry-level. advanced, rescue and leadership-level issued by
another recreational diver training organisation.
If not a PADI Divemaster, successfully complete the PADI Divemaster course diver rescue assessment.

Course Description:
The PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) course is a 4-day course designed to prepare PADI Divemasters or equivalent to become PADI Assistant Instructors.
This course begins the PADI Instructor Development process and is scheduled during the first 4 days of our Instructor Development Course
(IDC). The PADI Assistant Instructor rating authorizes you to function as an instructional assistant and independently conduct certain PADI programs.
Successful completion of the AI course also qualifies you to participate in the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program . Combining the
AI course and the OWSI program into a continuous program makes up the entire IDC.
Our unique 4-day free IDC Pre-Study and Preparation Workshop is also available to our PADI Assistant Instructor candidates. Likewise our one
month free Instructor Internship is available to graduates of our Assistant Instructor courses to help better prepare you for the OWSI program
and IE. In fact this is the ideal way to go for those wanting to be well prepared Instructors with greater chance of success at the IE and
if time is not an issue.
