Taal Volcano Crater - Trek the volcano inside a volcano

View Tour  View more Tours

After pick-up from your hotel , we drive 2,5 hours south of Manila down the winding road until Talisay, Batangas. There we board a motorized outrigger boat to Taal Volcano Island 30 minutes away. Sitting serenely on Taal Lake, the small , low volcano offers a deceptive sight, considering the violent history of past eruptions. It was named as "a volcano inside a volcano" because many believed that the lake that circles the volcano was once a crater or mouth of a volcano. Walk about 1 hour up the soft black lava sand (or pay for a horse.) to the rim of the crater together with a local guide and have a close up view of the caldera. Return to a lakeside inn for an included lunch.
