T'Boli Weaver patiently weaves the traditional designs from her tribe. |
It is near Lake Sebu in Mindanao region, Southern Philippines. Her skill being passed on from a generation of weavers, mostly women. To weave this 10 meter Tinalak of Ikat or Dagmay design, she must have at least 30 bundles of Abaca fiber, growing in abundance around Davao. Then to string the ends of one strand of Abaca to the other and weave 10 meters of Tinalak it takes one month. |
