Cebu’s airport is located on Mactan Island.
Since this is an international airport, Mactan Island is a premier holiday destination for Japanese, Koreans and business travelers.
Hotel facilities are first class and golf courses are near. Travelers mostly opt to stay in the cheaper accommodation around the circle area
in Cebu City.
Those who have more time to spent may explore the smaller islands North of Cebu, offering sand & sun. Tiny Malapascua Island
can be reached by a 5 hours busride (one way) to Maya + 10 minutes boat ride from there. Claimed to be the “second Boracay”. Keep
in mind that number of arrivals, as well as facilities and electricity are limited Bantayan Island is gaining popularity
as it recently can be reached by plane in 25 minutes from Cebu.
The Southwestern coast of Cebu is mostly visited by divers, heading for Moalboal. Or by families staying in secluded Badian
Island.To get to Moalboal is a picturesque 3 hours land ride one way from Mactan airport. This once sleepy coastal village is since
1980 all about diving. Various choices of eateries, bars and disco available. Various activities are possible in the mountainous backland.
